Egyptian Story

Ground chili (“شطة مطحونة”) has been a staple on every Egyptian table for generations.
It’s part of the everyday flavour of Egypt — sprinkled on ful, koshary, lentil soup, street food, and home-made stews.
It adds heat, colour, and the signature Egyptian kick.

Usage

  • Add to koshary sauce

  • Mix into ful medames

  • Use in marinades for chicken or lamb

  • Sprinkle over soups, salads and dips

  • Add to tomato sauce for an Egyptian-style heat

Spicy chilli powder that adds warmth and colour.

Sprinkle cautiously over stews, dips, eggs and sandwiches.

Chili adds heat and colour. People who are sensitive to spicy food may prefer smaller amounts.

Many children test their bravery by trying a tiny pinch of chili on bread – usually with dramatic reactions.
